Incontro inaugurale del Progetto Europeo EMODNet Chemistry-2.
From June 3 to 5, 2013, OGS (Istituto Nazionale di Oceanografia e di Geofisica Sperimentale) organizes in Trieste at the “Aula Magna” of the Department of History and Culture from the Ancient to the Modern World (University of Trieste), Androna Baciocchi, the Kick-off meeting of the European Project EMODNet Chemistry-2.
EMODNet (European Marine Observation and Data Network) Chemistry-2 is a three-year project supported by the European Union (Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries), which has as its main objective to establish a pan-European infrastructure for the collection, management and dissemination of information on the marine environment in support of the marine, maritime and environmental protection requirements. In particular, the project aims to collect data on chemical parameters required by European strategic directives (MSFD) and to provide spatial and temporal distributions useful for marine environmental assessment. The project is coordinated by OGS (Istituto Nazionale di Oceanografia e di Geofisica Sperimentale), Trieste, as responsible for the National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC) and involves 46 Italian and foreign research institutes.
