Among its various activities, the Management of International Cooperation and Research Promotion – ICAP, provides a reception and information service for all foreigners interested in undertaking research or starting advanced training courses at OGS.

The office provides an initial contact service with the international public, also with the aim of directing users' requests to specific offices, first of all the Friuli Venezia Giulia Welcome Office, the reception office dedicated to national and international students and researchers arriving in the region or intending to engage in international mobility actions, to pursue their studies or research projects. 

The FVG Welcome Office operates through a network of integrated services, in collaboration with scientific and academic institutions in Friuli Venezia Giulia, with two help desks, the Trieste and Udine Welcome offices.

Students and researchers can therefore contact a single front office to receive free initial assistance and up-to-date information on the administrative procedures for entry and stay in Italy or other countries, finding short and long-term accommodation, health care, study and research opportunities.
