The OGS is the national coordinator of three ESFRI infrastructures (European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures), two of which were established as ERIC (European Research Infrastructure Consortium):
- EURO-ARGO - European contribution to the ARGO program: European component of the ARGO program, a worldwide system for in situ observation of oceans, polar seas and marginal seas through multiparametric profiling buoys;
- ECCSEL - European Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage Laboratory Infrastructure: European infrastructure for the capture and storage of carbon dioxide;
- PRACE - Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe: Italian component of the international partnership for high performance computing.
