Research: new recruitments at OGS
The National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics (OGS) has appointed 12 new staff with permanent contracts. This morning, at the headquarters in Borgo Grotta Gigante, four researchers and eight technologists signed the contract making them permanent members of the Institute's staff. They are oceanographers, geophysicists and seismologists, with high-level qualifications and specialised in the main research topics of the Institute.
The OGS is therefore focusing on the growth and enhancement of its staff, with particular attention to merit and skills, as well as to the outcome on scientific topics with a major impact on the country and society, such as the sea and oceans, the Earth's interior, risk reduction, polar areas and open science.
Paola Del Negro, General Director of OGS, stated that these recruitments are in line with the organisation's development plans, which in recent years have provided for the recruitment of more than 50 researchers, technologists, technicians and administrative staff. She added that the process will continue next year with further opportunities for researchers and technologists, with 20 positions dedicated to technical-administrative staff, fundamental for the sustainable growth of the organisation.
