On Board is a role-playing game about the icebreaker Laura Bassi, designed to build up inclusion. The game aims to promote knowledge of the various research activities carried out in polar environments and the instruments used in scientific expeditions. On Board also allows players to immerse themselves in the everyday life of researchers on board a scientific research vessel in extreme environments.

The game was developed as part of the ON BOARD – Viaggio nell’inclusività project, which was funded by the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The partnership with the Fondazione Progettoautismo FVG Onlus enabled the development of On Board Easy, a version of the game in simple language and with simplified mechanisms to include players with learning difficulties.
