To promote the activities of the research vessel Laura Bassi, a LEGO brick model of the ship was created and displayed at numerous outreach events organized by the National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics (OGS).

The model is 60 cm long, 15 cm wide, and 30 cm high, built with over 1,500 LEGO bricks. It features several movable elements, including the ship’s three onboard cranes, tracked landing vehicles, and radar antennas.

The model also took part in an international contest organized by LEGO, where it received significant public appreciation and a substantial number of votes.
