20 November, Three winners of the 2014 MSCA prizes in Trento
Three researchers supported by the actions Marie Sklodowska -Curie ( MSCA ) were awarded on Tuesday at the conference ENGRes2014 "Empowerment Next Generation of Researchers", held in Trento on the 18-19th November. The European Commission has awarded the "Promising Research Talent" Maanasa Raghavan, researcher in paleo -genomic field, Shane Bergin for “Communicating Science", while the award for "Nurturing Research Talents " was given to Sarah Bohndiek , group leader at the University of Cambridge and Institute for cancer Research in the UK. "The goal is to promote initiatives such as joint actions at European level , and to share best practices for fostering career opportunities and innovative training for young talents" said Maria Cristina Pedicchio, president of OGS and member of the commission that evaluated the candidates for the prize Promising Research Talent". "The exchange of knowledge and mobility are important opportunities to better prepare the next generation of researchers and the European program Marie Sklodowska-Curie is a key tool that the European Union offers to talented and promising candidates” said Mary Cristina Pedicchio.
EU2014 Conference on the Empowerment of the Next Generation of Researchers “Promoting talents, spreading excellence” (ENGRes2014) is a European Commission Conference organized by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research, in collaboration with the Autonomous Province of Trento, under the auspices of the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, to discuss and reflect on the actions Marie Sklodowska - Curie , with a focus on the concept of "empowerment " of the next generation of researchers by addressing important issues such as training , mobility and career development .
