Civil Protection: the new Commission for Major Risks was establish

Yesterday, 28^th September, the "National Commission for the Forecasting and Prevention of Major Risks" of the Department of Civil Protection was officially established.

The Commission is composed of 64 members from Italy's most prestigious universities and institutes, who support the Department of Civil Protection in eight risk areas, from earthquakes to the environment.

Paola Del Negro, Director General of the OGS, has been appointed member of the risk area "Environmental and Sanitary Risks", while the President, Nicola Casagli, is member of the risk area "Hydraulic, hydrogeological, Meteorological and Climatic Phenomena".
