OGS geophysicist receives funding for Antarctic research
Giulia Matilde Ferrante, geophysicist at OGS, has won a grant from the SCAR Science Group Fellowship Programme, a programme of the Scientific Committee for Antarctic Research (SCAR) for young careers.
SCAR is an international organisation that initiates, develops and coordinates research programmes in Antarctica. The SCAR Science Group Fellowship Programme aims to support careers in three disciplines that correspond to the Commission's scientific discipline groups: Geosciences, Life Sciences and Physical Sciences. Giulia Matilde Ferrante won the award in the field of geosciences.
The idea is to actively involve young scientists in the work of the permanent disciplinary science groups (SGs) in order to guide potential future SCAR leaders and promote their professional development.
