Sergio Persoglia was elected as the third member of OGS's board

On July 11th 2011, the third member of OGS’s board was elected. Voters appointed Sergio Persoglia – formerly manager technologist at OGS, and now retired. What follows is his message to OGS’s staff:
Dear Colleagues,
let me thank you for the confidence many of you have shown in me, which has brought about my election. I understand you might have a number of expectations, that I do hope to fulfill.
Please, trust my words as sincere; they are not customary words. They do reflect my feelings: I am really happy and surprised for the unexpectedly high number of ayes. I am aware that both OGS and all of you deserve my deepest commitment; I realize that research is suffering from hardships; but I do believe that OGS’s skills and attitude will drive us through these times, and help us succeed in this challenge, if we are able to exploit to the utmost our common capacities.
