Profile

Angela Saraò, who holds a degree in Physics and a Ph.D. in Lithospheric Geophysics and Geodynamics from the University of Trieste in collaboration with the University of Oxford, is currently a seismology researcher at the Seismological Research Center of the National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics (OGS) in Trieste. Previously a post-doc at the University of Trieste and ICTP in Trieste, she has also been a researcher at the INGV Section of Naples - Osservatorio Vesuviano.

She has collaborated on numerous national and European projects dedicated to the study of earthquakes and the mitigation of seismic risk. She is author of numerous papers published in international peer-reviewed journals, and she has participated as a speaker at multiple international conferences and workshops. Her research primarily focuses on the analysis of natural and induced seismicity, aiming to understand earthquake nucleation processes and contribute to seismic risk mitigation.

In addition to scientific research, Angela Saraò is actively involved in scientific communication and outreach, as well as in research assessment and the promotion of open science.
