Profile
He has extensive international experience in marine ecology, environmental monitoring, benthic habitats, and marine protected areas. He earned a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences with a Marie Curie fellowship at the University of Nice, as part of the “Monitoring Mediterranean Marine Protected Areas” project, focusing on strategies to improve the conservation and ecological restoration of macroalgae. During his Ph.D., he also participated in courses on protected area management.
His main interests focus on studying anthropogenic and natural pressures and their short- and long-term effects on ecosystems, the factors regulating species distribution, and strategies for conserving and restoring the marine environment. For his studies, he integrates experimental ecology techniques and field surveys with ecological modeling methods, and geospatial and quantitative analyses.
He strongly believes in Ocean Literacy as a tool to protect our 'Home' and to make researchers’ work easier!
