World water day 2014: "water and energy"
World Water Day is celebrated every year on March 22 to promote an increased focus on the most valuable asset for life on Earth: water. It was established by the UN in 1992 for a more conscious use and management of water resources, in order to promote a sustainable development of the planet.
On the occasion of this anniversary, OGS - National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics organizes the conference "Water and Energy for Sustainable Development" to focus attention on the connection between these two resources in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The meeting, open to all, will be held Friday, March 21, 2014 at 18:30 at the "Park of sources Torrate di Chions" in Torrate di Chions (Pordenone).
The conference is organized with the partners of the European project Life- WARBO (WATER RE BORN - Artificial Recharge: Innovative Technologies for Sustainable Management of Water Resources).
Finally, Saturday, March 22 , researchers and technicians of OGS promote an experimental laboratory for students of the Istituto Tecnico Industriale "A. Malignani " of Udine to disseminate geological - geophysical survey techniques used in hydrogeological investigations. An opportunity to illustrate methodologies essential to the study of groundwater and for a correct and thoughtful management of water resources.
