Advanced SeisMic InterferOmetry MethoDs and TechnologiEs for EngineeRiNg Seismology

The MODERN project – Advanced SeisMic InterferOmetry MethoDs and TechnologiEs for EngineeRiNg Seismology – funded under the FISA program, aims to develop and apply advanced seismic interferometry methodologies for engineering seismology, with a particular focus on monitoring and dynamically characterizing the subsurface and built structures.

By integrating innovative signal processing techniques, distributed sensors, and numerical modeling tools, MODERN seeks to enhance the ability to analyze and predict seismic behavior in complex urban and infrastructural settings. The technologies developed will contribute to improving the reliability of local seismic hazard assessments and supporting risk mitigation measures.

Moreover, the project aims to generate tangible impacts in terms of technology transfer to public institutions, engineering firms, and companies in the sector, promoting the adoption of innovative tools for more effective and sustainable seismic risk management.
