Profile

I graduated in Electronic Engineering at the University of Trieste and obtained a Master's Degree in Management of Research, Innovation and Technology at the Politecnico di Milano. I have been working at OGS for over twenty years, where I deal with monitoring infrastructures, laboratories, technological development and science-diplomacy. Below are some assignments that reflect my professional contribution.

  • OGS representative in national and international technical and scientific collaborations, including: the European Plate Observing System (EPOS-IP, EPOS-SP, JRU EPOS Italia), the Central European Initiative (CEI), the EarthScope Consortium, the EUREF Permanent GNSS Network (EPN), the International Consortium on Landslides (ICL), the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the Military Geographic Institute (IGM), and the Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto regions;
  • leading the Central and East European GNSS Node for EPOS (CEGNxEPOS), overseeing the distribution of data and metadata from GNSS satellites using the GLASS system;
  • in charge of the geodetic monitoring network Friuli Regional Deformation Network (FReDNet), which is part of the North-East Italy Monitoring System (SMINO) included in the National Research Infrastructure Plan (PNIR);
  • principal investigator of OGS in the Monitoring Earth's Evolution and Tectonics (MEET) project of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR);
  • in charge of the Panarea seismic-geodetic network, being implemented with funding from the PNRR project: Development of ECCSEL - R.I. Italian Facilities: User Access, Services, and Long-Term Sustainability (ECCSELLENT);
  • head of the OGS Seismic Calibration Centre, recently updated with a primary calibration system with funds from the PNRR project: Italian Integrated Environmental Research Infrastructures System (ITINERIS);
  • leading the development of cost-effective GNSS devices for the public and private sectors. This technology has been leveraged in the PNRR projects: Multi-Risk Science for Resilient Communities under a Changing Climate (RETURN) and Research Infrastructure for Geological Surveys (GeoSciencesIR).
