ECCSELLENT Project Infoday in Milazzo

The ECCSELLENT Infoday was held this morning in Milazzo – a day dedicated to taking stock of the ECCSELLENT project, which focuses on research infrastructures working on Carbon Capture, Utilisation, Transport and Storage (CCUS).

Alongside the OGS, which leads the project, were the other partners: Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna, the Institute of Advanced Technologies for Energy "Nicola Giordano" (CNR-ITAE), the Institute of Sciences and Technologies for Energy and Sustainable Mobility (CNR-STEM), and ENEA.

The overall goal of the project is to enhance the majority of Italian facilities that are part of ECCSEL ERIC – the distributed pan-European research infrastructure connecting the best laboratories in Europe engaged in CCUS research. Italy currently contributes 17 laboratories (facilities) to ECCSEL, 8 of which are owned by OGS, including the natural laboratory of Panarea.

ECCSELLENT is funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR)Mission 4 “Education and Research”, Component 2 “From Research to Business”, Investment 3.1.1 “Fund for the creation of an integrated system of research and innovation infrastructures” (Research Infrastructures).
